The UND football recruiting game has been busy the past two days.
On Wednesday, the Fighting Hawks gained the commitments of Fargo South’s Jack Pifer; Columbine, CO’s Mikey Griebel and Arvada, CO’s Tyler Shannon.
Pifer, 6-foot-4, played QB at South but is expected to be a preferred walk-on at wide receiver.
Griebel, whose brother plays at Montana State, is a smaller player recruited as an athlete in the mold of a Weston Dressler-type. He was coached in Colorado a little bit by former UND and NFL OL Chris Kuper.
Shannon is a 6-foot-2 safety, who appears to have been a pretty good slotback in high school.
The class is starting to wrap up. I expect UND to announce a couple of mid-year guys in the coming days, including a JC QB with a bit of a Big Sky background. The prep recruiting game will start focusing on offensive linemen now.
